- 2 cups pretzel sticks
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Spread the pretzel sticks in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, butter, and heavy cream. Stir until it comes to a boil and let it boil for 3 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt.
- Pour the caramel mixture over the pretzels, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven, and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
- Once the chocolate has melted, use a spatula to spread it evenly over the caramel pretzel layer.
- If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts on top of the melted chocolate.
- Allow to cool completely, then break into pieces and enjoy!
