  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the coating sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll the dough into balls and coat them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  8. Place the coated balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
  10. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For an extra soft cookie, underbake slightly.
