A delicious casserole combining shrimp and creamy grits topped with crispy turkey bacon.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup grits
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 6 slices turkey bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil and whisk in the grits. Reduce heat and simmer.
  3. Stir in the heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until thickened.
  4. Fold in the shrimp and half of the bacon. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  5. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and remaining bacon.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add green onions or bell peppers to the mix.
  • Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
