4 cups thinly sliced potatoes
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
2 tablespoons fresh tarragon, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a bowl, mix the cream, garlic, tarragon, salt, and pepper.
In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes.
Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle half of the cheese.
Repeat with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, add some sautéed onions or leeks.
