  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 6 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and slice the potatoes thinly.
  3. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then crumble it.
  4. In a saucepan, melt the butter, whisk in the flour, and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add the milk gradually, whisking until the sauce thickens.
  6. Layer half of the potatoes in a baking dish, then add half of the ham, crumbled turkey bacon, onion, cheese, and sauce.
  7. Repeat the layers and top with remaining cheese.
  8. Bake for 1 hour or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
