A delightful and hearty meatloaf casserole that brings together the richness of meatloaf with the comfort of a warm casserole.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, milk, egg, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Transfer mixture to a baking dish and shape into a loaf.
  4. Spread ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake for 1 hour or until cooked through.
  6. In the last 10 minutes, sprinkle shredded cheese on top and continue baking until melted.

Notes

  • For added flavor, include garlic powder or Worcestershire sauce in the meat mixture.
  • Leftover meatloaf can be used in sandwiches.
