A rich and creamy bisque made with crab and shrimp, perfect for indulgent comfort food.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 4 cups seafood stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup cooked crab meat
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  2. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Gradually whisk in the seafood stock, ensuring there are no lumps.
  4. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 10 minutes.
  5. Add the heavy cream, crab meat, shrimp, tomato paste, and Old Bay seasoning; stir well.
  6. Season with salt and pepper, and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

  • This bisque pairs wonderfully with crusty bread.
  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
