Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs, separated
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt the chocolate over low heat.
  2. In a bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  3. In another bowl, whisk egg yolks with sugar and vanilla until creamy.
  4. Fold melted chocolate into the egg mixture, then gently fold in the whipped cream.
  5. In a clean bowl, whip egg whites with salt until stiff peaks form, and gently fold into the chocolate mixture.
  6. Pour into a cake pan and chill for at least 4 hours.
