  • 2 large onions
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oil in a deep fryer or heavy skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and slice the onions into thick rings.
  3. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. In another bowl, beat the egg and set aside.
  5. Take an onion ring, fill it with mozzarella cheese, and dip it in flour, then into the egg, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Carefully place the coated onion rings into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
