2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
1 ½ cups unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ½ cups buttermilk
1 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 cups boiling water
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease 15 round cake pans.
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Add eggs, buttermilk, and oil to the dry ingredients and mix well.
Gradually stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.
Pour equal amounts of batter into each prepared pan.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Once cooled, stack layers alternately with frosting between each layer.
Frost the top and sides of the cake with your favorite chocolate frosting.
